Our approach to

privacy and GDPR

Honesty is our policy when it comes to data protection and privacy. This page has some legal technicalities, but also is underpinned by a genuine concern that we do everything we can to ensure your data is treated with the respect that we would want our data treated.

We’ve reviewed our data collection and retention policy in line with the General Data Protection Act. This page provides an overview. If you would like more details, please contact Suzanne Thorneycroft via email at suzanne@qiperformance.co.uk

If you’re a client or supplier, we’ll have your data stored in a number of other places for the purposes of invoicing, paying bills and delivering projects. This page relates specifically to the marketing data collected via this website or our marketing events. Please contact Suzanne if you need other information.

Information collected

We collect personal data from visitors to this website through the use of online forms. We collect your details when you email us with an enquiry. We may also have collected your details when we met you at an event or you came to one of our presentations or training sessions.

When you submit your data to us, either through the website, by email or in person, this is collected in Mailchimp (our CRM) and is used by us in a variety of ways, specifically:

  • Providing information about products and services

  • Providing and personalising our services

  • Dealing with your enquiries and requests

  • Administering membership of our newsletter distribution list

  • Conducting market research

In all cases our aim is that it is clear what you’re opting into and you’ll have given your consent for us to use your data.

More generally, we do not pass on our data to any third party. If you’ve attended a workshop, downloaded content or asked to subscribe to our newsletter, then we collect your name and email address and use this to send out news and information from Qi Performance. You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time, either by using the unsubscribe feature on the newsletter or by emailing suzanne@qiperformance.co.uk

Where your data is stored

Mailchimp is our client relationship management (CRM) tool and collects and stores your data. In this instance, Mailchimp is the data processor and Qi Performance is the data controller.

Mailchimp is a cloud-based provider with a significant European customer base and impressive commitment to GDPR. You can read more about Mailchimp's security and privacy measures here.

Disclosure, opt out and deletion of your data

Disclosures
We won't share your data with third parties unless we are obliged to disclose personal data by law, or the disclosure is necessary for purposes of national security, taxation and criminal investigation, or we have your consent.

Want more details?
You have the right to see the data we have collected about you. If you have any requests concerning your personal information or any queries with regard to these practices, please contact Suzanne at suzanne@qiperformance.co.uk

Opt out?
If you’d like to opt out of receiving email or newsletter communications from us, or would like to change the media that we use to contact you (like changing from email to postal mail), please contact Suzanne at suzanne@qiperformance.co.uk. Our newsletter always includes an unsubscribe button.

Data retention and deletion
From May 2018, our policy is to retain data for two years. If we have not had substantive contact with you over a two-year period then we’ll delete your record from our database. If you’d like to see or remove your personal data from our database, again please contact Suzanne at suzanne@qiperformance.co.uk

Data capture information
We’ll send you information according to the preferences you submitted via our online forms. If you’d like to change these preferences at any point, please contact Suzanne at suzanne@qiperformance.co.uk

Other website
Our website may contain links to other websites that are outside our control and are not covered by this policy. If you access other sites using the links provided, the operators of these sites may collect information from you that will be used by them in accordance with their privacy policy, which may differ from ours.
