Saving business from lazy leadership

They say that to find your purpose, you should look for the things that bother you. For us, that's lazy or unskilled leadership: when people choose to take on senior roles, but don't make the effort to be the best leaders they can be.

We created Qi Performance to help leaders increase their awareness, manage their energy, and increase their impact. It's hard work. But when your entire organisation depends on you, it's work that pays.

Emotional Intelligence (EQ) using the EQ-i 2.0 model of Emotional Intelligence

As human beings we are hardwired to give our emotions the upper hand. So it’s really important that we’re able to recognise the emotions we are feeling, what that data is telling us, and what we’re doing with it. This influences how we’re understanding and managing ourselves, and also how we’re understanding and interacting with others. That’s where Emotional Intelligence comes in.

We work with the EQ-i 2.0 model of Emotional Intelligence because this explores EQ through 5 separate lenses: how well you understand and express yourself, and how you use these insights to manage relationships, navigate social complexities, take decisions and manage life’s challenges.

The beauty of EQ is that it can be developed. And since EQ has proven to be twice as important as technical or cognitive skills in producing sustainable success and performance at work (based on research by Daniel Goleman), we’re huge fans of using these tools with leaders and their teams.

EQ 360

The EQ-i 2.0 assessment is perhaps the world's leading measure of emotional intelligence, providing a detailed and incisive report about your strengths and areas for development.

Where it gets really interesting is when it's combined with the perspectives of others – a truly 360 picture of your business-critical emotional intelligence skills.

Energy Leadership

Energy Leadership™ is all about mindset and being able to tap into a solution's frequency to help you identify and overcome barriers, so that you can move forward with what you want to achieve in life.

Structured across 7 levels, the Energy Leadership Index assessment reveals how your current mindset is working for you and shines a light on how your  mindset may also be getting in the way of what you want. This clarity helps you take decisions and actions that help you move forward more positively and in a way that reduces stress. What's not to love about that?

Hogan

ADJUSTMENT AMBITION SOCIABILITY INTERPERSONAL SENSITIVITY PRUDENCE INQUISITIVE LEARNING APPROACH

The Hogan range of assessments is highly regarded, and we use three of the most widely recognised in our practice:

  • Hogan Personality Inventory

  • Hogan Development Survey

  • Hogan Motives, Values and Preferences

The Personality Inventory and Development Survey brings valuable clarity to your personality traits. In short, they show you your reputation – how everyone else sees you at work. These insights reveal key factors about how you show up and shine, along with aspects that could derail your career if you don't learn to manage them.

The Motives, Values and Preferences assessment reveals the kind of environment you like to work in, what motivates you, how you are likely to lead, and what type of culture you are likely to create.

Hogan is a valuable tool as part of recruitment selection, to aid succession planning, and for ongoing development.
